JOHN HERRING married ANN ACKLAM (born c1715 in Nunkeeling) in 1737 in Sigglesthorne.  Their children were as follows:

1. John HERRING (born c1738 in Sigglesthorne)

3. Mary HERRING (born c1747 in Leven)
4. HENRY HERRING/HERON (bpt 1755 in Leven), a yeoman/farmer, who died in 1831 in Garton in Holderness.  He had married ELIZABETH PINDER (born c1746 in Sigglesthorne and died 1829 in Garton in Holderness), the daughter of WILLIAM PINDER, in 1781 in Leven.  Their children were:
   1. JANE HERON (born 1783 in Grimston Garth) married THOMAS SUGGITT in 1806 in Garton in Holderness.
   2. Samuel HERON (born 1785 in Grimston Garth), a yeoman/ husbandman/farmer who died in 1857 in Grimston Garth.  He had married Nancy/Ann White in 1812 in Hollym and had the following children:
      1. Elizabeth HERON (bpt 1813 in Garton in Holderness)
      2. Mary HERON (born c1819 in Garton in Holderness) married George Smith in 1841 in Garton in Holderness.  Their children are as follows:
         1. Ann Elizabeth SMITH (born 1842 in Great Ribston) married William Julian, a solicitor.
         2. Jane SMITH (born 1844 in Great Ribston) died in 1857 in Winestead
         3. Mary (Polly) SMITH (born 1846 in Hilston)
         4. Sarah SMITH (born 1847 in Flinton) married Francis Richardson, a farmer.
         5. George SMITH (born 1848 in Flinton) died 1905 in Dunswell.   He had married Emma Coverdale (1847-1907) in 1873 in Newland, Hull.  Their children were:
            1. Hannah SMITH (1874-1966 Dunswell) married John Butler in 1904 in Hull.  Their son was:
               1. William BUTLER (born 1913 in Dunswell)
            2. Mary Jane SMITH (born 1878 in Dunswell) died 1949 in Beverley.  She had married William Watts in 1905 and had the following children:
